Rio de Janeiro- RJ
One of my favorite cities in the world is the Wonderful City, which is really wonderful .
Statue of Christ the Redeemer
We start by the one of the main and unquestionable attractions in Rio, the statue of Christ the Redeemer, to get there you can go with an official transportation called Paineiras that stands very near from the famous hotel Copacabana Palace, we have payed around USD 20, 00 for this tour. You will take around 40 minutes to get to the top of the hill where the statue is, once you are there you can stay as long as you want appreciating the view. When you are done just get the same transportation back to the Copacabana beach.
At first sight is very exciting to see the Statue, also it becomes more wonderful with all those hang gliding flying around it, you feel that you should do the same.
Pão de Açúcar
The second most famous place in Rio is called Pão de Açúcar, the view over there is very beautiful and the facilities are excellent (also to bring your children with you), to get there we get a Taxi/ Uber up to the Pão de Açucar entrance , we have payed around USD 25,00 for the entrance . You can stay there also as long as you want.
We stayed there appreciating the sunset for a long time.
There are also an opportunity to fly with an helicopter around the Pão de Acúçar, this tour is a little bit expensive around USD 150,00.
Arpoador Stone
One of the most beautiful places in my life where I could see the sunset , the Arpoador Stone is located in the end of the Ipanema Beach, so you can ask for the Taxi/Uber driver to leave you at any Ipanema Beach point, then you can go walking to the Arpoador Stone appreciating Ipanema Beach.
Prainha
Rio has a lot of famous beaches , but sometimes the beaches are a little bit crowded , so if you want to ran away from the crowds you should know a small beach called Prainha, during the week it is a excellent place to rest.
Macumba's Beach and Recreio
Have you ever seen a famous picture from Rio of a huge stone that divides two beautiful beaches ? If not, you should see by yourself.
The picture above was took from the top of this stone, that divides two beaches called Recreio and Macumba’s beach, to get this stone point you have to hike the stone and it can be a little dangerous . I do not recommend this hiking children.
We have arrived at this South part of Rio by car, because this part is a little bit far from the other places in Rio, maybe if you take a taxi or Uber it can be a little bit expensive . If you chose going by car, pay attention on your way, because there are slums around the main places and avenues in Rio and it can be dangerous.
Downtown
A very new attraction in Rio is a lovely museum in downtown called "Tomorrow's Museum", you can reach this museum by car, taxi or public transportation. The entry ticket is around USD 3,00 and if you are a student you can pay a half price. The museum architecture is unique.
This museum is next to a square called Praça Mauá over there you will find wall painted by a Brazilian artist called COBRA.
